Atlantic City Air Show to Roar Over Boardwalk This Summer

Experience new heights and celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Atlantic City Airshow this summer. Pilots take to the skies over the boardwalk on Aug. 23.

The Atlantic City Airshow will return to the Boardwalk to celebrate its 15th anniversary on August 23, 2017.

“We are excited to welcome back the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, and Geico to celebrate our 15th anniversary of presenting Atlantic City’s signature summer event,” Greater Atlantic City Chamber President Joe Kelly. said.
“This event has helped to drive tourism to our destination during the midweek and showcase Atlantic City’s great amenities to hundreds of thousands of visitors,” he added.

Alongside the “Thunderbirds” The Geico Skytypers Airshow Team will be performing. A flight squadron of six WWII aircraft showcasing precise flight maneuvers and formations used during WWII.

The Geico Airshow Team uses skytyping, which much faster than skywriting. A letter can be written in 4 seconds at the air show performance. To create each letter a computer releases radio signals to each aircraft at a certain time to release smoke puffs.
