Local volunteer firefighters on the front lines of the fight against the novel coronavirus are struggling financially. NBC10’s Denise Nakano was in Broomall, Delaware County, with the story.

Broomall Rehabilitation and Nursing Center reported 105 of their 173 residents tested positive for the novel coronavirus while 28 people died. The National Guard had been brought in to assist but later left. NBC10’s Wendy Saltzman finds out why and speaks with the daughter of a resident who tested positive.

A spokesperson for the Broomall Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Marple Township confirmed with NBC10 Monday that 105 of the facility’s 173 residents tested positive for the novel coronavirus while 28 people died.

The daughter of a woman who died at a Delaware County nursing home where nearly 50 people tested positive for COVID-19 is speaking out. She’s angry over the way the nursing home handled the ordeal and she’s sharing her story with NBC10’s Steven Fisher.

A second grader from Worrall Elementary School in Broomall has died from complications of the flu. NBC10 reporter Pamela Osborne reports.
