A Philadelphia high school principal is under investigation after he allegedly shoved a student during a confrontation in a school lobby.
Investigators say the incident involved Abdul-Mubdi Muhammad, the principal of John Bartram High School, which is located on South 67th Street.
Investigators say Muhammad told a student who arrived without his uniform Wednesday morning to go home. The two then began to argue in the school lobby, according to officials. During the argument, Muhammad allegedly shoved the student though the teen was not hurt.
Both school administrators and police were notified. Neither Muhammad nor the student were taken into custody however.
Philadelphia Police told NBC10 they are aware of the incident but the Philadelphia School District is handling the investigation. Muhammad, who was in his second year as principal of the school, will be reassigned pending the outcome of the internal investigation, according to school district officials.
