A body has been recovered from the Schuylkill River in the Philadelphia suburb of West Norriton, police say.

Lower Providence police Chief Francis “Bud” Carroll told the Times Herald of Norristown that police responded around 3:30 p.m. Sunday and that the unidentified body was recovered from a riverbank.

Reports of the body being an Iraq War veteran who was reported missing Feb. 9 were denied by Carroll, according to the Times Herald.

“We do not know that it is Janice Rubendall,” Carroll told the Times Herald. “In no way, shape or form did we say that it was.”

Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele told the newspaper that there is an autopsy scheduled for Monday.
