Cydney Long

Cydney Long joined NBC10 in March 2011. Prior to NBC10, she was with KYW as a New Jersey correspondent and general assignment reporter from 2001 to 2011.  She covered southern New Jersey, co-anchored weekday and weekend morning newscasts from 2004 to 2006, and served as fill-in anchor on a regular basis.

Long is an award winning journalist committed to serving her community.  In 2003, she earned a Mid-Atlantic Emmy for breaking news coverage of the deadly Atlantic City Tropicana Casino garage collapse. She was also recognized by the Mercer County prosecutor for uncovering grocery store surveillance video of a missing woman with her alleged killer prior to police and prosecutor.

Long began her journalism career in 1994 at WTSP in Tampa, Florida, where she produced the weekend evening news until 1997.  She transitioned to reporting with Bay News 9 in Tampa, as well as Time-Warner owned Central Florida News 13 of Orlando.  She reported and anchored the news and covered various hurricanes along both Florida coasts.

From 1999 to 2001 Long was an investigative reporter with K-EYE in Austin, Texas.  While there she investigated the notorious Austin cold case known as ‘the yogurt shop murders’ and reported on the Texas A&M University deadly bonfire collapse, among other stories.

Long is a graduate of the University of South Florida where she earned a B.A. in mass communications. In her free time she enjoys summers at the shore and spending time with her husband and two children on their blueberry farm in South Jersey.
