Score a Cup of Free Rita's Water Ice

Saturday is the first day of spring and that means one thing -- free, sweet water ice (or Italian Ice as they call it) from Rita's.

For 17 years the tradition has been that on the first day of spring visitors can get a free 10-oz. water ice from any Rita’s location.

Besides the free cups of water ice, Rita’s will be releasing a new flavor this year that has Easter-time in mind. It’s Peeps.

Yes, those delicious yellow marshmallow birds are the newest flavor addition to the water ice family. They even have a peeps mascot to mark the occasion.
 
But better get in line early because nobody can turn down free water ice and lines are known to stretch around the block.
