Prosecutors have dropped first-degree murder charges against two of three defendants in the robbery and killing of a 7-Eleven store employee in Newark last year.
Vanisha Carson of New Castle, Andre Palmer of Fairburn, Ga., and Vincent Stallings of Wilmington were all charged with first-degree murder in the September 2012 killing of 48-year-old Mohammed Rafique Ullah.
Carson pleaded guilty Friday to attempted robbery and conspiracy. Palmer pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder and robbery. Stallings, who investigators say pulled the trigger, is scheduled for trial in January.
Investigators linked the killing to a robbery hours earlier at the Interstate 95 service plaza in Newark. A description of a vehicle in the service center robbery led investigators to an apartment next to the 7-Eleven, where Palmer and Carson were arrested.
