Police say a couple was shot returning to a West Oak Lane home after grabbing a bite to eat. So far, police have no motive and no suspects.
Police are investigating a double shooting in the Ogontz section of the city that left a couple injured.
The shooting happened last night just after 11:30 as the couple was returning to their home on 66th Avenue after dinner, according to police.
The victims, both in their 30s, were just feet from their front door when they were shot.
They were able to get inside and take cover, but not before the woman was shot twice in the back and her boyfriend was hit in the leg.
Police drove the couple to Einstein Medical Center where they are both in stable condition.
So far, authorities have no suspects or motive, but they do have a description of the gun thanks to ballistic evidence.
"The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time, however, ballistic evidence indicates that there were shots fired from a large caliber semi-automatic handgun," Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told NBC10's Katy Zachry. "We found several shell casings on the sidewalk."
Police say that there are a number of surveillance cameras in the area and they are hoping the video will help them find the shooter.
