The workweek is off to a beautiful start, with a continuation of the sunny weather we enjoyed this past weekend but rain is on the horizon.

The culprit that's set to steal our sunny skies away, is a storm system that is to our southwest Monday. High pressure is holding the clouds and rain at bay Monday, but as the high moves offshore, clouds and rain will spread northeast.

The change will be slow to take shape. After some sun Tuesday morning, skies will gradually become cloudy. Rain, however, will still be to our southwest for the evening commute.

We expect the rain to start during the late evening hours Tuesday and continue through the night. As you can see by the hour-by-hour forecast for 9 a.m. Wednesday, there is a chance of some downpours with this passing system.
