Eddie Jordan says he is not worried about the various reports stating he could be fired soon.
“If you know how to handle it, then it won’t bother you,” Jordan said.
Multiple sources said that Comcast-Spectacor was ready to fire the Sixers coach after his first season with the team, according to the Inquirer.
The 76ers are 23-40 heading into tonight’s game with the Charlotte Bobcats and are eight games out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Jordan signed a four-year contract in May 2009 worth about $12 or $13 million. Sources say the fourth year is a team option so the Sixers would only be obligated to pay Jordan through the 2011-2012 season.
If the Sixers do fire Jordan, two coaches would be coming off the books in 2010 as former Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks’ contract comes to an end after this season.
