No need to run to sign up for the 2025 Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run, but you still want to log online to get your name in the running for the 10-mile dash through Philadelphia this spring. Here’s how to get into the race lottery.

Organizers announced on Monday that this year’s Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run will start at 7 a.m. — a half-hour earlier than past years — and will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025.

Kevin McDonnell and Amber Zimmerman won the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run men and women’s races last Sunday. NBC10’s Johnny Archer caught up with the two runners, both from the Delaware Valley, on what training and winning was like for them.

NBC10’s own Brenna Weick did a quick turn to compete in the 2024 Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run. She was joined by tens of thousands of others who started running as Erin Coleman and Keith Jones set off air horns.

Another Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run is in the books. NBC10 was there, step by step, with the 40,000 runners who made the 10-mile trek along Broad Street from North Philly to the Navy Yard. NBC10’s Leah Uko has a recap of the event and spoke with the winners.

Around 40,000 runners raced through Philadelphia for the 2024 Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run! 

40,000 runners will race down Broad Street Sunday morning for the 2024 Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run. Today, many of those runners will head to the convention center to pick up their bibs and get geared up for the race. NBC10’s Siobhan McGirl has all the details. 

40,000 runners are expected to participate in this year’s Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run on Sunday. NBC10 has a special preview of this year’s course and the stories of some of the runners.
