Tens of thousands of runners are racing through the city this weekend for the AACR Philadelphia Marathon, Dietz & Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon, Rothman Orthopaedics 8K, Health & Fitness Expo and Nemours Children’s Run. Police are searching for a man they say assaulted two women on the Ben Franklin Parkway early Sunday morning. Police say he tackled a woman to the ground and continuously punched her when another woman stepped in and was pushed to ground. The man took off when a Good Samaritan stepped in.

Police are looking to identify a man who, they claim, attacked a woman on a Sunday morning on the Ben Franklin Parkway, punching her several times before he was scared off by a good Samaritan.

Expect traffic closures all around the Ben Franklin Parkway as The Parkway Run & Walk, presented by Citadel Credit Union will kick off at 8:30 a.m. and, at noon, the 2024 Puerto Rican Day Parade gets underway. NBC10’s Neil Fischer has details.
