Main Line Doctor, Wife Give Alcohol to Minors: Police

A doctor who lives on the Main Line and his wife are accused of supplying alcohol to several minors.

On May 19, investigators say a police officer pulled over a minor who was suspected of driving under the influence in Lower Merion. Police say the traffic stop led them to a home on the quiet 200 block of Winding Way where a graduation party was taking place.

When police arrived, they say they were met by 52-year-old Donna Marie Ficchi, who was allegedly visibly drunk, slurring her words and stumbling before inviting the officers inside. Police say they then found 11 minors inside the home under the influence of alcohol, three of them under the age of 18.

Ficchi and her husband, Dr. Stephen Ficchi, a 61-year-old family practitioner, were arrested in early June for the alleged incident.

Since their arrests, the Ficchis have been free after posting $5,000 bail. They're both due back in court on Aug. 14.

Both are charged with 11 counts of furnishing alcohol to minors, three counts of endangering the welfare of children and one count of disorderly conduct.

Stephen Ficchi is a pain management doctor with offices in Philadelphia and Bensalem.

Donna Ficchi's lawyer Vincent Cirillo said his clients feel bad about what happened and deny supplying the alcohol.

"They did not supply the alcohol," Cirillo said. "They had a deejay there and they had a caterer that furnished food but did not furnish alcohol."
