Homeowner Beats Robber With Shotgun: Police

Police say a South Philly homeowner turned the tables on an armed robber who broke into his house.

An unidentified man entered a home on the 2600 block of S. 7th Street around 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, according to investigators. Police say the suspect was armed with a shotgun and demanded drugs and money.

The homeowner then fought back against the suspect, took away his shotgun and then began to beat him with it, according to officials. Police arrived shortly after and took the suspect into custody.

Police have not yet revealed the identities of the suspect or homeowner.
