New Jersey's state Senate has approved a $34.1 billion state budget plan with vetoes from Gov. Chris Christie looming.
The Senate approved the spending plan on a party line vote with 24 Democrats supporting it and 16 Republicans opposing.
The Assembly was also expected to vote on it Thursday.
The state must have a balanced budget in place before the new fiscal year starts Tuesday.
