A longtime fixture in Philadelphia's Gayborhood, Woody's seems like it’s been around as long as Independence Hall. You basically can't be gay in Philly without visiting Woody's at least once. Woody's consists of a main bar at street-level that tends to draw a mellower crowd. This leads to a second bar and then beyond that a relaxing coffeehouse, where, during warmer whether, windows open onto the street. Upstairs is where the dance action happens, in a huge space with two bars. But be sure to show up on the right night: Monday is karaoke night, Tuesday is trivia night and Wednesday is 'Youth,' when seemingly every gay college student in town is squeezed onto the pulsing dance floor. Fridays and Saturdays are more traditional club nights, drawing a more mature crowd that tends to dress to impress.
