Authorities in Delaware County, Pennsylvania hope a cash reward will lead them to the suspect who gunned down a man Saturday in a quiet suburban township.
John Le, 29, of Ardmore, died after he took at least one bullet to the chest Saturday around 6:10 p.m. on the 2300 block of Haverford Avenue in Haverford Township.
Le's cousin described the Temple University graduate and Trader Joe's employee as "his mom's baby." He was the youngest of three boys. Le's mother had been praying inside a nearby Catholic church during the shooting and walked out just in time to see the ambulance rush by, the family said.
She didn't realize until later that her son was inside.
Police are hunting for a man seen wearing a red hoodie and jeans who investigators believe also shot at a group of people in Philadelphia's Overbrook Park just 45 minutes earlier.
Delaware County district attorney Jack Whelan offered Monday a $5,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunman.
Surveillance video showed the suspect walking toward an apartment building with his hood worn down. Le was then seen exiting a pizza restaurant carrying food and heading in the same direction as the suspect.
A few minutes later, the man ran past the camera with his hood up and carrying something in his hand. He was seen fleeing up Haverford Road toward Eagle Road in a dark gray sedan, police and witnesses said.
On Sunday, police said the same suspect shot into a group of people in Overbrook Park near the intersection of 77th Street and Sherwood Road.

Residents told police they spotted a suspicious-looking man in the neighborhood. When two people approached the suspect, he opened fire and fired a total of 17 shots, police said. No one was injured.
The victims came forward after seeing surveillance video from Le's shooting.
