Watch the Winter Classic Cam “Live” From Fenway

Watch as crews prepare the field for hockey

Winter Classic fever is building and so is the rink where the Flyers will take on the Bruins in Boston on New Years Day.

The NHL is pulling out all the stops to get fans fired up including posting a "live" (well, it's on 15-minute delay) 24/7 video feed of the preparations as crews turn baseball’s storied Fenway Park into a one-day outdoor hockey haven.

If you were watching the cam Sunday you might have seen the Fly Guys themselves touring the 97-year-old ballpark.

"It's pretty cool to get out here and get a feel for how things are going to be," said Flyers' young gun James van Riemsdyk. "It looks like it is going to be pretty incredible."

But, before it can be “incredible” it must be built.

Right now the Flyers definitely couldn’t be testing out the ice. As the sun came up Monday it appeared that crews had only laid down a tarp-looking thing over the field (probably to protect the baseball diamond below).

But, don’t worry -- they are on pace to get the place ready for Jan. 1 and just in case they lose some time they built in a snow day.

Considering the placement of the rink, if I were going to the game I would certainly want a perch at the top of the green monster.

Check it out for yourself.

And, of course, if you can't make it up to Beantown for the game be sure to watch the Bridgestone Winter Classic on NBC.
