U.S. border officers say they found 156 pounds of marijuana hidden in a tractor-trailer that was leaving for Canada.
Customs and Border Protection says the 48-year-old driver, Russell Gavin of Coldwater, Ontario, was arrested Thursday at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge north of Buffalo.
The agents were conducting random outbound inspections when they stopped Gavin, who was carrying a shipment of plants from Florida into Canada. Authorities say an X-ray of the truck revealed hidden brick-like bundles of marijuana.
Gavin was turned over to State Police. It was unknown if he has a lawyer.
