Woman Steals from Chichester Cheerleaders: Cops

A Delaware County woman is facing several charges for allegedly pilfering funds from a booster club.

The president of the Chichester Eagles Cheerleading Association has been charged with theft for allegedly stealing $2,253 from the club's bank account.

Lisa Benigni, 41, used a credit card linked to the booster club's account for personal transactions, according to Upper Chichester Township Police Chief Thomas Bush.

Benigni, of the 1400 block of Bradley Street in Linwood, used the card to make purchases at Dunkin'Donuts, Rite Aid and the online gaming site, Big Fish Games, said police.

She is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, access device fraud and counterfeit/failure to make bank deposits. Benigni is free on $10,000 unsecured bail. She is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing on May 9th in Aston District Court in Delaware County.
