Firefighters responded to a Center City block for the second time in as many days early Wednesday after a basement caught fire.
The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. in the basement of 2002 Ludlow Street, which is just off 20th Street.
The four-story building houses various businesses, include a technology company and a young Jewish professionals social group.
The building is located just around the corner from where an underground explosion happened along 20th Street Tuesday morning. The Tuesday blast blew out the storefront of a dry cleaners and sent smoke and dust through the street.
"We're lucky we are still alive," said Haviv David, owner of Mama's Vegetarian, a restaurant near the blast zone.
PECO continues to investigate the cause of the explosion. It remains unclear whether Wednesday's fire may be related to the blast.
