Search Is on for Alleged S Philly Attacker

New details emerged Wednesday in the hunt for an alleged sexual predator believed to be behind at least three attacks in South Philadelphia.

Two attacks happened within a half hour of each other early Monday morning on July 18 near the Italian Market, Philadelphia Police said.

Around 1:30 a.m. a woman was grabbed around the waist and sexually assaulted on the 1500 block of S 13th Street, cops said.

Less than 30 minutes later the same man allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman on the 1000 block of 9th Street in the heart of the Italian Market, cops said.

The victim in the first attack was able to give police a description which was released Wednesday.

The suspect is a medium-built, clean-shaven Hispanic male, 5-foot-9, between 25 to 30 years old, with a dark complexion who was wearing all black clothing and wore and Adidas hat, cops said.

He appeared to be a laborer or construction worker, according to authorities.

The same person could be responsible for an assault on May 15, at 9th and Moore streets, cops said.

If you have any information about the assaults contact the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251/3252. If you see the suspect dial 9-1-1 immediately.
