The snow changed over to rain and freezing rain overnight leaving slippery and slushy driving conditions on some roads this morning.
A mixture of snow, sleet and rain fell across the region on Saturday.
Residents in several areas, including Philly and its surrounding counties, woke up to plenty of slush and slippery sidewalks and roadways Sunday morning.
Temperatures stayed at or below freezing from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the north and west suburbs, Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. The overnight ice stayed in place, creating dangerous conditions on roads and bridges.
The ice threat wasn't as severe in Philly however due to warmer temperatures.
The ice melted and road conditions improved Sunday afternoon as temperatures rose between the mid-30's and low-40's.
However, we're in for another cold night and untreated areas in the north and west suburbs are expected to refreeze, creating slippery conditions once again Monday morning. There's also a chance of more snow on Tuesday. NBC10 Meteorologist Karen Thomas says a quick moving clipper system should move in overnight into 6 a.m. on Tuesday and then return with another quick burst of snow around 7 p.m.
