Can You Tell Me How to Get to ‘N3rd' Street?

A resolution introduced by Philadelphia City Council, which is slated to be passed next week, will officially name North 3rd Street, between Market Street and Girard Avenue, “N3rd Street” (pronounced “nerd”).

It’s been a long-time coming, as N3rd Street has become a well-known nickname for more than a year for an area budding with innovators. Even Mayor Michael Nutter has referenced N3rd Street while talking up Philadelphia’s tech community.

Co-working space Indy Hall, search engine optimization firm SEER Interactive, software company Jarv.us Innovations and Philly’s new Impact Hub, to name a few, bring a community of game-changers together just by being in the same proximity.

“It’s more about the area than things just specifically happening on Third Street,” said Danny Harvith, who helped push for the N3rd Street official name change. Read more about this story on PBJ.com.
