Woman Stabs Manager During Pennsylvania Dollar Store Heist: Police

A woman has been jailed on charges she robbed a Pittsburgh-area dollar store and stabbed the manager.

Forty-nine-year-old Donna Turner remained jailed Monday on robbery, aggravated assault and other charges in the Saturday night incident at the Dollar General Store in her hometown of Bellevue.

Police say Turner told them she robbed the store shortly after 10 p.m. because she needed rent money. They say she hid in a storage room then emerged after the store closed, wrapping two pieces of wood inside a shirt to make it appear she had a gun, and carrying a large knife.

Police say Turner demanded money, but was wrestled to the ground by a worker and the manager, who was stabbed in the arm. Police used a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.

Online records don't list an attorney.
