New Castle County Police have arrested a nurse's aide they say stole $2,000 from an 89-year-old patient by forging checks.
Thirty-seven-year-old Farrah Smith of Wilmington was arrested Tuesday and charged with numerous counts of forgery and crimes against a vulnerable adult.
Officers say the victim told police checks were missing in February and unauthorized funds were missing from her account.
Investigators say Smith worked as a visiting home nursing aide for the victim for several months. Police say she made out 14 of the victim's checks to herself and then cashed them.
