A man faces charges after police say he tried to break into a medical helicopter parked on a helipad in eastern Pennsylvania.
The (Pottsville) Republican-Herald reports Pottsville resident Christopher Wayne Camodeca, 23, is charged with felony burglary, criminal trespass, public drunkenness and other counts.
Officers responded shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday. Police say Camodeca was arrested after a brief foot chase and that he's also accused of stealing food from the office of Lehigh Valley MedEvac 7, along with food, a wallet and a set of car keys from a nearby home.
A spokesman for the Lehigh Valley Health Network says the helicopter was inspected after the incident.
“It's fine. It's not damaged at all,” Matthew Burns, a media representative with Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown told the Republican-Herald. “From what I understand, all he did was raid the refrigerator."
A telephone listing for Camodeca could not immediately be located and it wasn't clear if he had an attorney.
