People were not throwing away their shot to get "Hamilton" tickets early Tuesday in Center City.
Hundreds of people lined up outside of Forrest Theatre on Walnut Street, beginning as early as 6 a.m., to get tickets at 9 a.m to see the hip-hop, jazz and rap musical about Alexander Hamilton written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
"It’s part of this experience. It’s part of the fun," said Tracey Paradis, who got in line just after sunrise.
Although people didn’t receive physical tickets Tuesday, they did get wristbands with designated time slots to come back and pick up tickets.
According to a spokesperson for The Kimmel Center, they are unable to disclose how many tickets were available to purchase, but they confirmed that the tickets have not sold out as of 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The theater's capacity is 1,851 and it was built in 1928.
Ticket prices started at $127 and went up to $497 for premium seats. The performances will take place August 27 to November 17.

Tens of thousands more waited over an hour online at 9 a.m. to get tickets.
Just to get the chance to buy tickets, people had to register by June 27 last month for a lottery, with the winners announced July 3. Those winners then had the chance to log-on Tuesday morning starting at 9 a.m.
The registration process was put in place to lower the chance that bots would buy up all the tickets and sell them for a higher price on other websites.
"It’s an amazing show," said Jean Dolan, who physically waited outside Forrest Theatre. "It’s an experience and just to be able to see it in our hometown of Philadelphia makes it so worthwhile."
