Chris Christie to Receive β€˜Father of the Year' Award

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is getting an award for his parenting skills.

The national Father's Day/Mother's Day Council will crown the Republican governor a Father of the Year at an awards ceremony in Manhattan on Wednesday.

Christie is a dad to four children and often talks about them in speeches and at events.

The group says it honors dads who successfully balance demanding careers and fatherhood.

The other honorees this year are football Hall of Famer Curtis Martin, shoe designer Vince Camuto and Bloomingdale's CEO Tony Spring.

Previous recipients include former presidents Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan and professional basketball star Shaquille O'Neal.
