Three teenage boys grabbed and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl inside an abandoned home late Sunday afternoon, officials said.
The girl was walking along the 1300 block of W. Butler Street in Hunting Park at 4:50 p.m. when three teens grabbed her and pulled her into an abandoned house, investigators said.
"They engage her in a conversation under some false pretense and then they drag her into this abandoned home, which subsequently has been closed up," Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross said.
The teen boys sexually assaulted her before leaving the scene, police said. The girl was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital where she was listed in stable condition.[[417917763, C]]
"It's horrible," Melynee Walker, a mother who lives near where the assault took place, said. "Horrible. I have young daughters myself so just to think of that, it's devastating."
While no one has legally lived in the abandoned home for years, neighbors told NBC10 they've seen people come in and out of the house.
The Special Victims Unit continued its investigation Monday. Police had made no arrests by Monday morning.
