3 Die, 1 Hurt in Violent Night in Philadelphia

A bloody night in Philadelphia left three dead and one injured in three separate shootings in three different neighborhoods.

Two men, both 23, died when gunfire rang out at 27th and Latona Streets in Grays Ferry around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, said Philadelphia police.

One man who was carrying a revolver in his pocket when he arrived at a hospital was hit in the head, chest and arm. The second man was shot multiple times in the leg and torso.

At least 9 shell casings from a 9mm semi-automatic weapon were seen on the scene. A woman died in a North Philadelphia shooting around 11:30 p.m. Monday, police said.

A hunt for a suspect and a motive is underway, according to police.

The 34-year-old was driving a Lincoln Town Car in Kensington when 11 shots were fired on the 200 block of West Westmoreland Street. She managed to drive away from the scene before passing out behind the wheel and crashing into three parked cars.

She was taken to Temple University Hospital where she died. Police don’t have a suspect or a motive for the shooting.

Also overnight, a bullet grazed a man in Southwest Philly.

The victim was getting into his car on the 6700 block of Guyer Street when two suspects approached him from behind and open fire shortly before 2 a.m., police said.

The man, grazed in the temple, drove himself to the 12th Police District and was taken to the hospital. The victim is expected to survive, police said.

Police have not identified any victims in any of the shootings.
