Police Charge New Jersey Dad in DWI Crash That Left Young Daughters Hurt

A Jackson, New Jersey man was drunk when he ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle, injuring his two young daughters, said police.

The crash occurred Saturday night in Little Egg Harbor.

Police spokesman Christopher Arciniegas told the Asbury Park Press 30-year-old Ishmael Matos was charged with assault by auto, child endangerment, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and several other motor vehicle infractions.

His 2-year-old daughter was flown to a hospital by helicopter, while his 4-year-old daughter was taken by ambulance. Arciniegas said both girls were in stable condition.
