The President, in town for some early local fundraising, took the opportunity to pop into South Philly for a quick lemon water ice at venerable John's at 7th and Christian. He was accompanied by Mayor Nutter, who also had the lemon (don’t sleep on the cherry, fellas!) and an assortment of some 200 other staffers and secret service members.
As for the choice of John's over other of Philly's water ice emporiums, don't think that wasn't noticed and conjectured upon. According to the Inky, the President proclaimed to owner Anthony Cardullo he would "highly recommend" the lemon at John's upon his return to D.C.
