Gavin DeGraw Bails on 2 Local Appearances

Singer is recovering from a concussion and broken nose suffered during an alleged assault last weekend.

Gavin DeGraw will not be coming to Pennsylvania after all.

Degraw’s scheduled performances at Bethlehem’s Musikfest and Hershey Park’s Star Pavilion have been cancelled while the singer continues to recover from injuries suffered during an alleged assault, MTV reports. The singer was originally slated to open for Maroon 5 and Train.

On Monday, DeGraw told police he was assaulted after leaving a New York City restaurant and as he escaped, he was hit by a taxi cab.

Police say an investigation is underway, but the “I Don’t Want to Be” singer did not initially report the incident to police. They were informed of the attacks after receiving a phone call from Bellevue Hospital, where DeGraw was recovering.

Earlier this week, DeGraw cancelled three shows, but on Wednesday, the Morning Call reported that 34-year-old singer would rejoin the tour for Sunday’s Musikfest performance.

MTV now reports that despite being released from the hospital, doctors have ordered the 34-year-old singer to take more time off to recover from injuries which include a concussion and broken nose.

DeGraw will resume his tour on August 24 in Columbia, Md., according to MTV.
