Woman Struck, Killed by SEPTA Bus

A woman is dead after police say she was struck by a SEPTA bus.

Officials say the 51-year-old woman was on Rising Sun and Olney avenues around 6:20 a.m. when a SEPTA Bus made a turn southbound on Rising Sun.

The woman was struck by the vehicle and briefly trapped underneath before being removed by responding crews. She was then pronounced dead at the scene at 6:38 a.m.

Officials are currently investigating the accident.
