Reward Up to $65,000 Nearly 2 Weeks After Philly-Area College Student Went Missing

As the second week in the search for a vanished college student came to a close, the reward for information to his whereabouts increased again.

The reward for information that helps find Shane Montgomery increased to $65,000 Tuesday, said a Montgomery family spokesman.

Shane was last seen early Thanksgiving when he left Kildare's Irish Pub in Manayunk after spending Thanksgiving Eve barhopping with some friends.

The Montgomery family spent countless hours raising awareness of Shane's disappearance and handing out fliers in hopes someone saw the West Chester University senior on Main Street Manayunk in the early hours of Thanksgiving.

"Somebody knows where Shane is," Shane's mother Karen Montgomery said last week. "Somebody has to know something so you can't stop... It's a matter of he's our son and I won't ever stop looking for Shane."

Philadelphia Police and the FBI fanned out across the area searching the nearby Manayunk Canal and other areas but coming up with no clues leading to Shane.

Different groups including local businesses like Kildare's and Chubby's Steaks kicked in more money to help with the search for the Roxborough native.

Shane, who weighs about 140 pounds and stands 5-foot-11-inches tall, was wearing a buttoned- down gray shirt, gray hoodie and jeans when he left the bar. He also has a unique Celtic cross tattoo on his shoulder.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Philadelphia Police at 215.686.TIPS or the FBI at 215.418.4000.
