Man, Woman, Teen Shot in BB Gun Attacks: Cops

Police say three separate BB gun shootings happened within two days in Tinicum Township and Upper Providence.

Police are investigating a string of BB gun attacks in Delaware County.

The first incident happened Monday shortly before noon in Tinicum Township, according to investigators. Police say a 45-year-old man was shot in the hand by a BB gun while he was walking near the Wawa on Route 291. Police say the suspect was inside a dark car when he shot the man.

Later that day, around 4:30 p.m. in Upper Providence, police say a 15-year-old boy jogging near Dog Kennel and Rose Tree Roads was struck by a steel pellet in the neck. Police say the shooter in that incident was a teenager who was inside a car filled with other teens.

The third incident happened Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. at a Sunoco gas station only a mile from where the teen was struck. Police say a 28-year-old woman was shot in the eye by a BB gun as she was pumping gas. The woman managed to pull the plastic pellet out of her eye and drive herself to the hospital where staff called police. She was released from the hospital but her vision is blurry and her eye is still sore, according to police.

Residents in the area are on high alert.

β€œIt’s scary,” said Catheline Morgan of Media. β€œI have kids so yeah it’s concerning.”

β€œIt definitely makes me scared and I want to do everything I can to protect my family,” said Jennifer Martin of Upper Providence.

Police are unsure whether all three incidents are related. They continue to investigate and are taking a look at surveillance video. If you have any information on any of these incidents, please call Upper Providence or Tinicum Township Police.
