Man Steals, Drives Car While Drunk: Police

Numerous charges have been filed against a New York man who allegedly stole a car from an Atlantic City dealership and was later found with $40,000 in cash and illegally possessed prescription pills.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police stopped Simon Dolmaian in Jersey City around 7:30 p.m. Friday, near the New Jersey side of the Holland Tunnel entering New York City. Officers say the 42-year-old Garden City man was driving recklessly in a Corvette that had been reported stolen Friday morning.

Officials say the keys were apparently in the vehicle when Dolmaian allegedly drove off. He's charged with drunken driving, theft and receiving stolen property.

Dolmaian was being held on $50,000 bail, and it was not known Saturday if he had retained an attorney.
