Former Main Line Teacher Pleads Guilty to Sexual Abuse of Student at School for Troubled Youth

A former teacher has pleaded guilty in a sexual abuse case involving a former student at a school for troubled youth on the Main Line.

Twenty-eight-year-old Nina Scott, of Chester County, was also sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to institutional sexual assault involving a 16-year-old student.

Police allege Scott sexually assaulted the girl multiple times between February and October 2016 while she taught at The Village School. Police say Scott continued the relationship through letters after the girl left the school for another facility.

Authorities were alerted after staff found letters and a journal detailing the sexual acts. School officials fired Scott in December.

Scott will serve a minimum of three months on electronic home monitoring followed by five years of sex offender probation.
