Duo Steals Food From Church: Cops

Pair faces theft & burglary charges

A pair was arrested early Tuesday after they were caught allegedly stealing food from a New Castle, Del. church.

Officers on foot patrol investigated the Immanuel Episcopal Church on E 3rd Street after hearing noises coming from inside the church around 1 a.m., according to New Castle Police.

Two people were found hiding in the bushes near the church doors, police said.

Cops arrested Lamore Church, 19, of Frenchtown Road and Taylor Troxell, 21, of Gray Street. Police say they found that the duo was stealing food from inside the church.

Both were charged with burglary and theft.

Troxell also faces a charge for offensively touching a police officer. Police say she punched an officer during her arrest.

Both Church and Troxell were released on unsecured bond Tuesday, according to police.
