Body Found in Del. River ID'd as Missing Tuber

A body that washed up over the weekend on a small Delaware River island north of Philadelphia has been identified as a man missing since an August tubing trip.

Police in Lower Makefield said 30-year-old Anthony Del Prete of Herndon, Va., was with a group of friends Aug. 10 when he slipped off the tube and disappeared in Tinicum Township.

Bucks County Coroner Joseph Campbell said Wednesday that dental records confirmed the body found Saturday was Del Prete's.

Campbell said that Del Prete's death appears to have been an accidental drowning, but a final ruling would be made after toxicology tests were complete.
