“Bitter” Granny Accused of Hiring Hit Man to Hurt Family

The 72-year-old is being held on $300K bail in Camden County.

A 72-year-old Cherry Hill woman is accused of attempting to hire an undercover officer to hurt members of her family, according to police.

Suzanne Cohen was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of second-degree conspiracy after requesting that the officer “inflict serious bodily injury” to her estranged husband and the couple’s adult son and daughter.

"Her husband and kids had basically disowned her," Cherry Hill Police Lt. Bill Kushina told the Philadelphia Daily News.

Cohen’s son Randy describes his mother as an “angry bitter person” whose mental health has gone downhill in the last 10 years, according to the Courier-Post of Cherry Hill.

The family has accused the woman of leaving threatening notes, visiting them at work unannounced and possibly vandalizing their property, reports the Daily News.

”Over the course of the year, we've accumulated a thick file on her,” Kushina told the paper.

Even neighbors have noticed the woman odd behavior.

"She was peculiar, and not interesting peculiar, but the kind of peculiar you want to stay away from," said one neighbor to the Daily News.

Randy, who learned of his mother's plan two weeks ago, told the Courier-Post that he was scared, but is now relieved and confident that justice will prevail.

Cohen is currently being held at the Camden County Jail on $300K bail.
