Masked Man Shoots 5, Kills 2 in Camden

Police are investigating a multiple shooting late Saturday in Camden.

Camden police are searching for the gunman who shot five people late Saturday night in Camden. Two of the victims died, the other three are seriously injured.

The victims were sitting in a burgandy Chevy Lumina parked in an alley behind the 2500 block of Morgan Boulevard about 11:40 p.m. when a masked man armed with a gun and a machete, walked up to the car and started firing into it, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Jewel Manire, 18, and Khalil Gibson, 20, were killed, according to investigators.

A 16-year-old female was shot in the head and critically injured, a 20-year-old female was shot in the face and another 16-year-old female was shot in the arm and shoulder, said police.

Investigators told NBC10, after firing several shots, the shooter pushed the 18-year-old victim out of the driver's seat and drove the car with four victims still inside, to a dirt road off the 2500 block of Morgan Boulevard.

The 20-year-old female victim jumped from the vehicle and ran. The shooter chased her but she was able to escape, said police.

The suspect was last seen running toward basketball courts on a field near Morgan Boulevard.

The three injured victims are being treated at Cooper Hospital. Police say it's unclear whether they knew the gunman.
