It was a traffic mess for drivers on the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday afternoon after an RV, bus and tractor-trailer crashed and all caught fire in Burlington County.

It happened around 4:05 p.m. on the northbound lanes near mile marker 47 -- after Interchange 5 (Springfield Township), according to the Turnpike Authority.

All northbound lanes were blocked as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.

All lanes were reopened around 5:30 p.m., state police said.

But the long backup would take some time to clear for afternoon commuters.

The backup caused by the crash could be seen for miles.

No injuries were reported.
