This week's Profile is Cameron Washington of Philadelphia,Pa. Philly Fashion guru Sabir Peele tells us why Cameron is this week's That Guy.
What I like about this look?
Cameron's look and style is all about dressing with confidence. Overall, I like his choice of bold colors. It can even be noted that he’s partaking in the male version of "color-blocking" with the all-white blazer and burnt-orange trousers. This is a look that every guy couldn't pull off, however; with the right bit of confidence and attention to detail in terms of fit and pattern, he was able to put this look together well.
Where could this outfit be worn?
When I took this picture of him, we were actually in the North Liberties section of Philadelphia celebrating his 30th birthday at a Kentucky Derby style party. This is the perfect outfit for a summer event. Since he’s the owner of his own business, this particular outfit can be something you may see him wear on a typical work day. For the common guy that may work in a corporate environment, this outfit should be saved for an outside work event.
Where can you buy this particular look?
To find a bold pair of trousers like his look no further than brands like Bonobos, J.Brand and Levi's. With the summer just around the corner, there will be a fair amount of parties coming up with the "all white" clothing theme. This summer look to brands like H&M, Guess, Hugo Boss or go custom with Enzo Custom Clothier in Philadelphia. I've preached that gingham shirts are a must have all year-round, but, the spring and summer are ideal seasons to make them a staple in your wardrobe. Brands like J.Crew, Ralph Lauren and Uniqlo all carry gingham shirts at price points to satisfy all shoppers.
This look can be hit-or-miss depending on how you style it. When wearing bold trousers, typically you will want to pair a shirt with them of a complementary color. If plan to put together a look like this, swap out the loafers and replace them with a nice pair of saddle shoes or a more relaxed, but, dressier version of a boat shoe.
