One Year of Firsts: Make a Consumer Complaint

Day 104

Oh, wouldn't the world seem dull and flat with nothing whatever to grumble at? ~W.S. Gilbert

As a reporter, I have advocated on behalf of many viewers and consumers. I've confronted companies, ceo's, public relations people, you name it.

Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever written a letter or email on behalf of myself as a consumer.

My complaint???  My favorite shower scrub (Jump Start by Origins) has been discontinued. DISCONTINUED!  I'm addicted to this stuff.  I have to have this just like I have to have my morning coffee!!!  I can't believe women everywhere aren't crazed over this.

Yes, I know in the big scheme of things, this is minor in the world. But it's this minor thing in my morning that starts my day, (thus the product name Jump Start).   It's got this great wake up kind of smell and it's soapy but with a scrub.

In my email, I've done what I advise viewers to do when complaining. I addressed my email to the head of the company (always go to the top), I told them what a good customer I was and why I loved the product and why I am so truly disappointed it's been discontinued. I did not tell them I'm blogging about it.

I know. You're probably saying just go find some other scrub. Believe me I've tried.  I can't find anything else I like.

I have no idea if anything will come of my complaint. ( I will let you know.)

I just know I've been thinking about doing this for weeks and now at least I feel better knowing I at put my complaint on the record.
