Violeta joined Telemundo62 in January of 2014. She enjoys covering weather because it affects everyone all the time. “Rain and snow conditions can challenge our viewers but so too can the heat. I want to help people prepare and plan for anything,” said Violeta.
One of her most memorable weather stories was covering Superstorm Sandy.
Violeta was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina and raise in North Jersey. She attended Rutgers University, New Brunswick, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies. She later graduated from Mississippi State University with a Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology.
Violeta began her weather career in 2010 as a bilingual broadcaster for AccuWeather. Violeta has appeared on Fox News, Fox Business, ABC World News Now, The Big Ten Network, Fox Sports, Telemundo Atlanta, ZBM-TV, and various other Spanish networks across all of Latin America. The opportunity to forecast weather for a wide range of viewers, countries, climates and topographies in two different languages really established and honed Violeta’s interest in weather, and how it affects people globally.
An active member of the community, Violeta is very involved in mentorship and is a strong supporter of The Boys & Girls Club, having participated as a child.
She loves writing, watching sports, playing basketball and snowboarding.
