Phillies “Sub in” for Southwest Airlines Employees

Phillies lend a hand to their official airline

Outfielders Shane Victorino and John Mayberry Jr. joined the Phillie Phanatic and the Phillies broadcasting team Wednesday to support Southwest Airlines at the Philadelphia International Airport, the official airline of the Phillies.

The players and the Phanatic spent time working alongside operations and ramp agents. They also met fans, posed for pictures and signed autographs in the terminal with their broadcasters.

This event came on the heels of Southwest Airlines’ announcement that they will be cutting daily flights to multitude airports, including Pittsburgh, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Ironically, one of the flights worked on by the Phillies was a flight to Pittsburgh.
