The Sixers didn't wait long to fill their vacant spot.
One day after waiving Jacob Pullen, the Sixers signed swingman James Young to a two-way contract.
As a two-way contract player Young can join the Delaware 87ers, but pursuant to the signing date, he can spend up to 25 days with the Sixers. That does not include any time spent with the Sixers following the conclusion of the 87ers' regular season.
This season, Young (6-6, 215) appeared in 20 games for the Wisconsin Herd, the new G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks. Young, 22, averaged 22.3 points (44.3 percent from the field, 37.1 percent from three-point range), 5.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 20 games for the Herd.
Young, selected with the No. 17 pick by Boston in the 2014 NBA draft, spent his first three seasons in the Celtics' system. Most of his time came with the Celtics' G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
Young will wear Jahlil Okafor's former No. 8 with the Sixers.
