Tonight's Lineup: Tommy Joseph Bats 6th in Phillies Debut

Tommy Joseph bats sixth and plays first base Friday night for the Phillies in his major-league debut.

If they play, that is. It's been raining hard in South Philly this afternoon.

Joseph, who takes the spot of Darin Ruf on the Phils' 25-man roster, gets the start against Reds left-hander Brandon Finnegan. Joseph is expected to assume Ruf's role as the right-handed hitting portion of the Phillies' first base platoon.

At Triple A, Joseph went 11 for 30 (.367) with three doubles and three home runs against lefties (see game notes).

Carlos Ruiz is behind the plate to catch Jeremy Hellickson. Chooch bats fourth, followed by Freddy Galvis, who homered out of the five-hole on Thursday night.
